The late 16th century marked the beginning of intensive lemon cultivation in the area in front of the hotel, and the community also created a kitchen garden which they planted with medicinal and aromatic herbs.
Over the centuries, the gardens were adapted to the different needs of the estate and were redesigned in the Romantic style, with winding tree-lined paths, large expanses of grass, pergolas and light-filled plazas.
Today, the gardens form a luxuriant and elegantly-styled oasis, where you can find a collection of a thousand different species of native and exotic plant including palm trees, ancient wisteria, maritime pines, yuccas, camelias, kiwi and olive trees.
Flowerbeds, vegetable gardens, pergolas and rose bushes welcome guests in a harmonious kaleidoscope of colour.
